UNESCO Handbook for Journalists Reporting on Climate Change and Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific
We'd like to remind you the about the objective of the hackathon is to develop innovative apps that help journalists to monitor and report on climate change and sustainable development issues in Asia and the Pacific.
In the link here you can find the access to the UNESCO’s Guidebook for Journalists Reporting on Climate Change and Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific which includes information and knowledge on climate science, related international and regional treaties and policy frameworks including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development, and tips for journalists for finding and telling stories.
Please go through the contents of the book and get yourself familiar with the concepts of climate change & sustainable development. This book will act as a guideline for your applications/projects.
The apps developed should meet one of the following objectives:
- Spread and publicize the contents of the guidebook towards the target audience such as journalists, communicators, journalism students and teachers as well as civil society across the region,
- Help journalists to monitor and leverage data, scientific knowledge and information relating to climate change contained in the guidebook,
- Help journalists to find and tell the story effectively and accurately based on the
- Raise awareness and engagement of journalists on climate change reporting based on the guidebook.
